Jazz Awards at The Palladium Theatre

The Palladium honors local jazz legends, Herb Snitzer, Kitty Daniels and Majid Shabazz with an all-star afternoon concert, followed by a jam session in the Side Door. Confirmed artists for the Hough Hall concert include: James Suggs, trumpet, LaRue Nickelson, guitar, Valerie Gillespie, sax and vocals, David Pate, sax, Belinda Womack, vocals, John Lamb, bass, Fred Johnson, vocals and Jack Wilkins, sax. La Lucha, featuring John O’Leary on piano, Alejandro Arenas on bass and Mark Feinman on drums will anchor the mainstage show, backing all the guest artists.

Photographer Herb Snitzer, who was front and center taking photos of some of the greatest artists in jazz history, will be honored with the first annual Palladium Jazz Award. Also receiving the award will be singer and pianist, Kitty Daniels and drummer Majid Shabazz.

A jam session, organized by the Al Downing Tampa Bay Jazz Association, will follow the concert in the Side Door. Food trucks will be on hand between the mainstage show and the jam.
