2019 Al Downing Jazz Education Scholarship Competition Finals

Come and listen to our annual high school jazz scholarship finalist competition.  Held every year, Al Downing Tampa Bay Jazz Association awards 5 scholarships to outstanding student jazz musicians.  It will be an exciting time, held at the historical Manhattan Casino.  Each young musician performs with an outstanding backup band: Fred Hunter-bass, John Jenkins-percussion and Phil Magallanes-piano.  Judges this year are Bettison, Charlie Robinson.

Finalists are:

Kaleen Barton, Vocalist - Tarpon Springs HIgh School

Cash Fulton, Guitarist - Tarpon Springs High School

Erik Hempel, Bassist - Lakewood HIgh School

Alex Malkovich, Guitarist - Seminole HIgh School

Dylan McHann, Saxophonist - PCCA/GibbsHigh School
